Anadolu Ajansı Ekonomi · Ali Canberk ÖzbuğutuAccording to Anadolu Agency, citing central bank data, the bank's gross foreign currency reserves rose on a weekly basis to reach $160.2 billion. Gold reserves also increased compared with the previous week.
The data arrived during a period when reserve composition is being watched as an important indicator of the bank's balance-sheet strength. AA noted that reserve movements in recent weeks have been linked to Treasury bond issuances and domestic fund flows.
Market analysts have read the picture cautiously. Economist Hakan Kara, interviewed by Anadolu Agency, said the reserve increase may have limited direct impact on monetary policy decisions. The Turkish central bank's June Monetary Policy Committee meeting will be watched closely by investors in the coming weeks. This article is not investment advice.
