Ukrainian air defenses intercepted most of the incoming drones but failed to down a single Russian missile, officials said, as the country grapples with a shortage of US-made Patriot interceptors. The strikes were the latest in a summer-long series of large-scale attacks that Kyiv says have become almost routine.
Ukrainian officials renewed calls for additional Western air-defense supplies, warning that gaps in interceptor stockpiles are leaving cities increasingly exposed. Kyiv has accused Moscow of deliberately targeting civilians in recent strikes, including small-drone attacks on individuals in other frontline regions.
