The campaign is being built around a message of national sovereignty, one that resonates with supporters as Brazil contends with new tariffs imposed by the US administration. Polling currently favors Lula, but decades on the political stage leave him facing risks from voter fatigue. The October result will decide who leads Latin America's largest economy for the next four years.
